Introduction
Longcombe Cottage Holidays offers 6 self catering holiday cottages in a rural situation in the heart of the South Devon countryside. The cottages are set around a level courtyard. There is an indoor heated swimming pool, games and laundry rooms, gardens with play areas, patios and a tennis court.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

  • Ample car parking close to cottages.
  • Owners will help with bags on arrival/departure where required.
  • Car park is loose stone chip. Paths to cottages are paved.
  • Public areas lit at night. Each cottage has outside light.
  • Car park and cottage pathways are level.

Main Entrance and Reception

  • Entrances to all cottages, reception, laundry, swimming pool and games room all have a doorstep of varying degrees. (Please ask for details.)

Laundry

  • Doorstep into laundry. Level access from cottages.
  • Floor level, front loading washing machines and tumble dryers.
  • Freezer, front access - floor to head height.

Games Room

  • Videos, games and toys - floor to above eye level.
  • General area information - work surface level.
  • Pool Table – standard.

Leisure Facilities

  • Indoor heated swimming pool & sauna – small wheel chair accessible step at entrance.
  • Access from cottages on tarmac path, some stone chippings to cross.
  • Open 9am – 9pm summer -  10am – 8pm winter. Unattended.
  • Stone tile flooring, pool has roll on/off cover.
  • Signage -  standard health & safety signage
  • Lighting – natural light + ceiling and wall lights
  • Safety rules provided in pool entrance and in each cottage - include no swimming alone and children to be accompanied by adult.
  • Pool is 1/2m - 1.75m deep. Entrance by child friendly graduated steps. Water kept at about29 degrees. Pool cover to be reeled on and off by users. Assistance could be provided for this on request. Sauna has small entrance step. Wooden benches.
  • Toilets standard.
  • Separate male and female changing rooms - a small step into shower cubicles.

Outdoor Facilities

  • Mostly level lawn areas with sloping banks. Play areas suitable for most ages. All leisure areas accessible via flat pathways/patios. Wooden benches and tables outside each cottage with additional seating/tables on patios. Sun umbrellas in summer. Hard tennis court. Rackets and balls provided.

Bedrooms

  • Bedrooms in Badgers and Ducks on 1st floor
  • Bedrooms in Granary ( one ground floor, one first floor)
  • Lomentor ( all ground floor)
  • Dovecote (ground floor)
  • Falcons ( ground floor)
  • Smoke alarms in each cottage - audible only
  • Many bedrooms fairly small in terms of clear floor space
  • All have ceiling/wall lights and bedside lamps
  • All are carpeted
  • Divan doubles and singles; 3 four poster beds; bunks in Badgers
  • One well behaved dog welcome in some cottages. All cottages are non-smoking

Bathroom, Shower-room and WC [Ensuite or Shared]

  • Lomentor has one bathroom with shower over bath on ground floor and one shower room 1st floor.
  • Falcons has large, ground floor bathroom with shower over bath.
  • Granary has bathroom with shower over on middle level.
  • Dovecote has ground floor shower room.
  • Ducks has 1st floor shower room with double sized shower tray
  • Badgers has 1st floor shower room – small.
  • Standard doors

  • Grab handles available on request
  • Hire of loo seats etc can be arranged.

Self-Catering Kitchen

  • Kitchens part of open plan ground floor
  • Hot water tanks have thermostats

  • Floor level electric cookers with hobs at work surface level
  • Microwaves on work surface
  • Crockery stored in wall /floor cupboards, cutlery in unit drawers and cookware in cupboards under work surfaces

  • Freezer in Lomentor – other cottages have drawer in Laundry Room Freezer

 

Additional Information
The owners live on site and are very anxious to give all guests a memorable holiday experience. We open the office daily and encourage contact with our guests. If guests have particular needs we are delighted to try to meet them. We can also assist with local information, what’s on and where to go. We will do everything possible to ensure your holiday runs smoothly.
